Coke TVC - Singapore.
[A group project by Chris Szymanski/Arron Webber/ Skyler Leong/ Shayne U/ Marcus Mclernon/
Nic Ng and yours truly! ;)]

This is a COKE TVC shot_06_BEFORE.

This is a COKE TVC shot_06_AFTER editted by me.
Basically what i did was to smoothen the facial texture of this talent. Check out his chin :D. I hope you guys could like spot the differences lol. But i guess it would be kinda difficult, looking at the resolution of this video :X. You could actually see it in high resolution tho :D Big differences. Trust me! ;)

This is a COKE TVC shot_11_BEFORE.

This is a COKE TVC shot_11_AFTER editted by me.
Basically what i did was to roto this scene out and well, basically took off the Levis logo at the background. It was kinda tedious but well, it was a great one! ;)

PS:
Just realized that i dont have the entire sequence of the the COKE TVC at the moment. But once I managed to get my hands on them, I'll upload them ayte? ;)

Note: Dont believe what you see on TV haha. Nowadays, technologies are soo advance, you can do wonders with software! ;)

Coke MTV - Singapore.
[A group project by Chris Szymanski/Arron Webber/ Skyler Leong/ Shayne U/ Nic Ng and yours truly! ;)]

This is yet another big project that I've been working on well, 3 months back?? or so? haha and well, this was pretty much a fucked-up job i may say :X. It was tedious. With the TVC and MTV on going all in one shot, it was certainly something. But all in all, I do really enjoy the overall process of this project. Altho, it's kinda pain in the arse I may say. Imagine this. We actually stayed over in the office for almost a month. At one point, i only had like 8 hours or sleep in like 3 days straight haha. So yea, imagine that. But of cause, we didn't really stayed over for the entire month in the office. We do go back to our crib - dont get me wrong ;).

The TVC didn't really gave me or the rest much problem but as for the MTV part, theres just too much refinements and disagreement between few parties and shit. It was tedious, trust me and not to mention, stressing the shit outta me? We have to roto the scenes, touch- up, colour correct, key out the green screen, create the graphics for the MTV, Imatch base on the off9 and well basically everything. But hey! We managed to pull things tru thanks to our leader, Arron Webber who has been a great friend and a senior towards me I may say. He definitely taught us alot during this project. I've gotta give him the credits. He has been soo patient towards us during the whole process of this job :D

TM Net - Love Is Possible
[A group project by Ali Reza Khatami/ Ali Seiffouri/ Sheheide Sheh Omar/ Alex/ Nic Phoon/ Nic Ng/ Skyler Leong and yours truly! ;)]

This is one of the best work and team that I've worked with so far at Pixel Post and well, rather interesting i may say. It was my first tryout on Nuke software and well, all i can say is that everything went very well than I expected :)). It was truly something and because of this project, i kinda love Nuke the software. To those who are a AE user, you might consider giving Nuke a try. It's really something :D. I fall in love with the software instantly tho at times, it's kinda pain in the arse you noe :P It may not be as user friendly as AE but HEY! it's really something okay and you'll be surprise on how fast this software creates the final outcome for you compared to AE at times ;) Not to mention, pretty flexible too! ;) Do check it out ayte? :))

Anyway, back to the project, we've been watching tons of tutorial in order to get this far and trust me, it is fucking pain in the arse and well boring but hey! it helps you big time when you're on it! Trust me ;) We spend our Raya holiday at the office for this project, celebrated both Ali's birthdays while we were working on this with champagne and Virginia's homemade cakes and dessert :D All in all, it was great fun and well, aren't we lucky to have Ali Reza as our 'lecturer and senior' to guide us tru this project :)) All I can say is that im glad and grateful to have both Alis and well the whole team :D

At first, we were darn worried that we couldn't produce an excellent job and when Ali Reza told us about how important this job is and that alot of ppl are actually fighting for this job, we kinda panic a little and well, worries that we couldn't hand in on time before the due date reaches but hey! We managed to pull things tru altho there's much refinement from the agency on the 3D side :X but oh wells, all is good now :D

Anyway, I hope you like it! ;) Enjoy ayte?
Do drop some feedback :D Much appreciated! ;)

Duesenberg - Teaser Promo

[A self initiative project :)]

Version 1
[Look out for the end part. It's slightly different from the second version.]

Version 2
[Look out for the end part. It's slightly different from the first version.]

This is one of my self initiative project done over here at Pixel Post. How this project came about was well rather a long story. There wasn't much work back then when i first entered the company. Business was as usual - dont get me wrong. Just that i was well, basically a junior. A fresh grad who know nuts about the real industry yet. So what happen is that my boss, who well wanted us to get exposed and used to the real industry, asked us to work on a self initiative project. It could be anything/ theme we like so long as it's within these 3 category.

1) A motion piece with a moral ending.
2) An animation piece with a solid storyline.
3) A promo piece base on a non existing/ self create product.

After much thoughts, I;ve decided to go with the third option and since i've created a 3D model of a Duesenberg car, I figured all the better ryte? Safe time and well, very much convenience :P Anyway, here's the final piece after much consideration and WIP and feedbacks from the Art Director and fellow colleagues. Theres 2 versions as you can see and to be honest? I'm pretty much standing with the first version :))

This motion piece is actually a teaser. An introduction on the new series of Duesenberg which will be launch during Summer haha. Anyway, this car comes in different colours therefor, i've decided to come out with version 1. But after much consideration and feedback from my boss, somehow he prefers the second version. He didn't really like the changing colours of the car part. Oh wells, you guys be the judge ayte? ;))

Hope you guys will like it. Do me a favor, please ignore the 3D model of the car :P I know it's pretty much raw :P Cant expect much from a motion graphic designer. That was my college work btw. My finals on basic 3D modeling :P. Basically everything was done by myself. The audio as well and well, let's just say i was lucky enough to have a colleague, a talented editor who help me out with the audio :)). But all in all, im happy and im proud of the turn out of this project.

Enjoy :D

PS:
Just realized something. The resolution is pretty bad for both videos. I wish i could do something about that but unfortunately this is the best i could do. Will try to find a way to solve it ayte? ;) In the mean time, please bare with it lol. There's a lot of details that are missing actually. Those lens flare and small lens particle are not very visible im afraid. :((

Oh wells, better than nothing :))

X PAX Surprise Bonus Promo

This is one of my latest piece of project in Pixel Post :). This project is slightly different from the previous post. This is actually a promo for XPax. theres another continue from this version. The next version is actually for the Deepavali celebration which i will upload emm on the next post. This version on the other hand is actually a promo from XPax for the Raya celebration.

I hope you guys will like it :). It's a rather complicated piece of motion i may say that mainly plays with depth and some camera movement. Will be uploading more jobs soon in the next post. Stay tune! ;)

PS: Feedbacks are most welcome but then again, please play nice :))

PPS: This is a follow-up job. Credits to the previous designer who designed the overall look of this motion piece ;)

Hannah Montana SMS Promo

My first day and first project at Pixel Post :) Got me all nervous back then by the seniors about how important this project was and shit :P haha nice try guys! But overall, i was happy with the outcome. The producer didn't have much problem with this projects and there weren't much feedbacks from them and the agency , which is good. Dont get me wrong! ;)

Overall, is a great experience cause as mention above, this was my first real industry work which will be shown on tv. Uploading this project makes me miss my first and well ex producer Benjamin Haris :) He was indeed one hell of a great producer which i will miss the most! ;) thanks for the days Ben!

H FACTOR 2009

1. Explain how your design solution is an appropriate solution to the assigned problem.

H FACTOR 2009 is an internship project working with HUE VISUALAB. The main concept of this motion graphic piece is to portray the overall event of what H FACTOR 2009 is all about and at the same time, remaining the glamorous and the professionalism of the entire event. Not only that, because this event is actually a project by Hannah Tan, I was asked to come out with a motion piece that also at the same time, representing Hannah Tan in a way as well. Therefore, I’ve came up with this motion piece.
The main elements that I’ve used throughout the entire motion piece would be by playing with the camera’s focus point and at the same time, playing with the lights as the main elements in transiting a scene towards another. The lighting effect was inspired by mainly the audio of this piece and at the same time, to create a paparazzi kind of feeling and ambience. The lighting effect also plays a pivotal role in this motion piece in creating the glamorous and sexiness of the entire sequence.

2. Describe what you’ve learned from this assignment / project.

Time management is one of the major things that I’ve learned from this project. Working with real clients is definitely way different if you were to compare it here in college. It’s way tougher when you’re out there. Corporate identity and little details must be put to much thought. Other than that, I’ve learned to know and understand myself as well as my capability and strength even better in a way. I’ve gain more experience on how to handle things in a more professional way as well as in people management during the whole process.

Last but not least, I’ve learned to explore more and at the same time, be exposed to various method of creating a piece of motion. Setting an impression is indeed a very pivotal thing especially when you’re out there in the real world, meeting real clients and real big projects and so on and so forth. I’ve also learned that working in the real world is way tougher than it may seems. Time is definitely very pivotal when it comes to motion. On top of that, I realized that the design industry is not that big after all. We are all linked up somehow :)
